Managing Career Transitions in the Age of Free Agency

Date/Time: Thursday, June 7, 2007 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Place:  The Princeton Club of New York

In today’s fast-changing world, job security has become a thing of the past. In response, we must act as independent agents. As free agents, we are no longer employees, but entrepreneurs. We must manage our careers - and market ourselves - in the same ways that businesses do. And like today’s businesses, it is imperative to learn effective ways to manage transitions.
Turning Points Career Navigator is an innovative career development course curriculum being offered to assist career changers in managing the free agent workplace. The Turning Points hybrid approach uses coaching, guidance, self-discovery and technology to help you develop concrete tools and strategies for expressing yourself effectively in resumes and interviews, formulate a list of goals and a plan for meeting those objectives, develop a strategy of self-branding and marketing, and more.
Turning Points was originally created by Phoebe and Jack (Princeton ‘50) Ballard. Recently, their son Mike took over the company. As a practicing career coach, entrepreneur, and owner of several successful businesses; Ballard brings his unique perspective to the fast-changing career world. Mike will provide us with an overview and experience of Turning Points Principles.
