Dr. Teena Cahill, is a nationally and internationally acclaimed speaker on leadership, peak performance, enhancing resilience, self-care, and purpose. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, an M.S. in counseling, and a B.S. in education. Under the banner of her company, Wisdom and beyond…. she speaks at corporate, association, healthcare, educational and fund-raising events world-wide.
Dr. Cahill is an experienced businesswoman, former adjunct professor for graduate studies in the behavioral sciences, and continues a private practice of psychotherapy in Princeton, New Jersey.
She is a wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and caregiver. She and her husband, a former Marine corps fighter pilot and commercial aviator, who is now disabled, live in an extended family setting that includes their daughter and son-in-law – both successful professionals trying to manage careers and children.
Teena works both in the trenches and on the big stage, and understands the issues faced by her audiences. She not only “talks the talk,” she “walks the walk,” on topics that matter in today’s busy world.
Audiences laugh and learn as Teena speaks out on topics that can enhance our ability to bounce back from adversity, help us find our authentic leadership style, understand that leadership is about listening and communication, and hear the latest research on the mind/body connection. She believes self-care is the basis for resilience, peak performance, and purposeful leadership.
Dr. Cahill’s popular weekly newspaper column,” Life in the Nineties,” approached psychological topics in business and family life with humor and practical content. To give parents some guidelines for modeling leadership during troubling times, she authored a chapter entitled “Reassuring Young Children: The Role of Parents in Helping Children Overcome Adversity,” for the book “Shocking Violence II.” Her article, “I Feel like a Juggler in a Three Ring Circus” appeared in “Ignite!” magazine and "Empowering Young Women" an in-depth look on the topic of women and the management of home and work life has been serialized in the magazine, "Garden State Woman”. Her new book on resilience, leadership, and self-care is soon to be released and available nationwide.
Dr. Cahill volunteers her time for programs that support families, children, and education. She is the Master of Ceremonies for the annual Memorial Day parade in her home town, and volunteers her time with a committee that sponsors the parade, the Fourth of July Celebration and other events related to the history and appreciation of our country. She also volunteers her services to programs, nationwide, that support men, women, and families.
